In the past, we have already presented our mobile sales app as well as our service app and reported on how the app supports your sales force or technical service. Today’s article is focused on how the app transfers the data.
Our customers who use the polumana® sales app or, for maintenance service managers, the service app, provide their data in a structured way. These are usually organized in different databases. In order to make the data available to the respective field service employees via the app, it must be integrated in a defined framework. This framework is the core of polumana® App, which is stored in Microsoft Azure. Once the interfaces are integrated, data exchange then takes place automatically – both from source systems to the app and the other way around.
The polumana® apps for mobile field service processes are the window to your company. All data is displayed via the app and can also be updated there. It makes no difference whether it is data from ERP /CRM /PIM or CMS. For each employee, the data is at their fingertips and available via any of their preferred devices. The polumana® apps recognize the status of up-to-dateness and only update the changed data via update. And if no mobile network or WLAN is working, your employees work with the last version status, which is updated in the background every 5-45 minutes, depending on the settings.
To ensure that data transfer can take place quickly and easily, a large data transfer takes place once, i.e. when the app is installed for the first time. This brings the app to life. From this point on, the differences in data are recorded for each synchronization and only these are updated. Each field service employee only receives the data for which he is responsible and only this data is then continuously updated. This process takes place automatically in the background as soon as the mobile device is in the wireless network. Manual intervention to ensure the functionality or up-to-dateness of the app on the part of the user is not necessary.
The offline capability of the app is ensured by the fact that all data is stored on their mobile device, which is then updated again and again. Even low minimum standards for the tablets used are sufficient for this.
The concept of mapping all sales and service processes on an app and offline-capable use has already convinced many customers.
